YouthCon will be Wednesday, April 3 to Sunday, April 7. This is a slight change from previous conventions. We have added a full day to the convention, with a new twist. We understand that most students will be missing several days of school, this is unavoidable, so we tried to make the best of it. We tried to choose a weekend that worked for Camp Glorieta, and possibly be around their Spring Break. So even though it is Wednesday – Sunday there are some strategic decisions that were made to benefit each youth ministry.
The first session will begin late Wednesday evening, so those groups who are traveling from far away will not miss anything. Most groups will be spending all day traveling so a late night option will be welcomed.
Then the biggest change… there will be no programming on Sunday. In years past one of the hardest parts of the youth workers were returning to work the next day after the convention. Usually, we have our last session that morning which finishes around 11:00 a.m. then everyone loads up and hits the road for a very long day. And the groups who have to drive a long distance doesn’t get home until the middle of the night. And some youth groups even skip the last session to make it home in time. So we switched things up! The only thing that is planned for the last day is breakfast (and you can even skip that)! So if you have a long drive, you can get back home at a decent hour. Believe us, your adult volunteers with thank you, and you won’t miss a thing.
A detailed schedule will be available as we get closer to the date.
